A police officer came upon a man stabbed in the chest Tuesday night in the East Bluff.
The officer on patrol about 9:05 p.m. spotted a man with a bloody shirt walking along the sidewalk in the 1100 block of Frye Avenue. When he approached the victim, the officer realized the man, in his mid-30s, was bleeding from a serious stab wound to the chest, police said.
He was rushed to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, where his condition was not available Tuesday night.
Police officers and detectives crowded around a two-story home in the 1000 block of East Frye Avenue, though officers wouldn’t confirm that was where the stabbing occurred. Initial reports were that a woman had stabbed the man, but officers also wouldn’t confirm those reports, only saying that all parties involved were in custody.
