Black Bank Robber caught

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — Farmington Hills police have arrested a man the police chief said is a serial bank robber responsible for several robberies in Farmington Hills and surrounding communities.

The most recent incident happened at a Chase bank branch on 12 Mile Road Friday evening. In that incident, the robber got away, but without any money. Similar incidents occurred twice in September, allegedly by the same man, but with more success for the robber.

Farmington Hills Police Chief William Dwyer scheduled a news conference for 4 p.m. Sunday to announce the arrest.

The suspect has been charged with two counts of bank robbery, each punishable by up to life in prison, and one count of attempted bank robbery, punishable by five years in prison.

He was arraigned by 47th District Court Magistrate Dennis Pheney Sunday afternoon and is being held without bond, Dwyer said in a written statement.
