Dozens of officers respond to the scene of a massive riot between gang members at a Miami high school.

MIAMI (Bay News 9) – Police were called to break up a riot between gang members at Miami Edison Senior High Friday morning.

There were reports of physical violence in a large courtyard. Shots were reportedly fired and weapons were displayed.

Hundreds of officers responded to the scene. More than 40 teenagers were seen leaving the school in handcuffs.

Portions of I-95 were shut down during the fight.

Police were ready for some type of altercation after threats of a riot were made earlier this week.

First Christian-Newsom murder trial moved to 2009

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) — The first man set to go to trial in connection with the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom won’t go to trial until next year.

A Knox County judge reset Latalvius Cobbins’ murder trial to January 26th of next year.

Prosecutors have said Cobbins will be tried first. Unless they change their minds, the other suspects Vanessa Coleman, Lemaricus Davidson, and George Thomas will probably not go to trial until sometime next year.

That will likely mean, Eric Dewayne Boyd’s federal trial for allegedly being an accessory to the fatal carjacking that led to the deaths of Christian and Newsom, will be the first trial help in the double murder case.

Boyd does not face murder charges, but could face 30 years in jail if convicted.

Also today, prosecutors announced they will seek the death penalty against Venessa Coleman.

A former Ohio police officer was sentenced to at least 57 years in prison today for killing his pregnant lover and her unborn child, after a jury voted to spare his life.

Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for 57 years. He had faced a possible death sentence for murdering Jessie Davis and her unborn child, who was to be named Chloe.

Bobby Cutts took my sister from me. You took a chunk out of my heart,” Stephanie Davis said, reading from a letter she read for her cousin, Caylon Davis, Jessie’s adopted brother, at a hearing before Stark County Common Pleas Judge Charles Brown Jr.

Cutts, who appeared to choke up at times during his sentencing, did not speak. During a hearing earlier this week, he pleaded for his life, telling the jury in a quivering voice that he accepted responsibility for his crimes. “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I’m asking you to spare my life,” Cutts said, according to The Associated Press.

Cutts cried on the witness stand during his trial as he said he accidentally killed Jessie Davis by elbowing her in the throat during an argument. He hid her body in a park, finally leading police to her body after a nine-day search that generated national attention.

A jury convicted Cutts of murder for Davis’ death and of aggravated murder for the death of her fetus.

A man facing trial for the rape and killing of a Sparks teenager is pleading insanity.

Twenty-nine year old Tamir Hamilton entered his new plea Thursday during a hearing before Washoe District Judge Connie Steinheimer.

The victim’s sister was involved in bestiality. Yes, it was the sister’s nigger buck who raped and murdered the young victim shown below. At one time they all shared the same apartment. And it’s like; “OK, I’m nothing but a ‘racist,‘ so I have the audacity to ponder, what could go wrong under those circumstances?” How about anything and everything? White people seem to get stupider and more brainwashed as the years go by. It’s not like the jewish diversity and multicultural experiment was a great success, no, we see what happens, we know what goes down, the GD interracial BS was a complete and utter failure. So why are innocent White girls still being raped and slaughtered by niggers? Niggers that they had willingly come in contact with? They’re not good for breeding, they’re not good fathers, husbands, lovers or anything. No, they’re not good for anything, matter of fact, they’re not even human.

The judge also rejected a defense request to exclude a possible death penalty.

Hamilton’s is charged with sexually assaulting and killing 16-year-old Holly Jean Quick in her bedroom in 2006.

He was a friend and former roommate of the girl’s older sister.

His trial is scheduled to begin March 17.

Hamilton pleaded no contest last summer and was sentenced to life in prison for raping a University of Nevada, Reno student the month before Quick was killed.

Black Serial Killer Watts Convicted in 1970s Student Slaying

KALAMAZOO, Michigan: Jurors convicted a confessed serial killer of first-degree murder in the 1974 slaying of a 19-year-old Western Michigan University student. Coral Eugene Watts, who claims to have stabbed more than a dozen women to death but denied killing WMU student Glorida Steele, faces a mandatory life prison sentence after Friday’s verdict. Steele was stabbed more than 30 times in the apartment she shared with her 3-year-old daughter in 1974. Watts, of Inkster, about 13 miles (21 kilometers) west-southwest of Detroit, already is serving a life sentence for the 1979 murder of Helen Dutcher in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale. Watts, 53, received immunity for the 12 killings to which he has confessed, including 11 in Texas and one in Michigan, as part of a 1982 deal with Texas prosecutors.

Admitted Texas serial killer dies
at Mich. hospital Friday

JACKSON, Mich. (AP) – Michigan prison officials say confessed Texas serial killer Coral Eugene Watts died Friday at a hospital of apparent prostate cancer.

Watts was 53.

Watts last week was sentenced to a second life prison sentence in the slaying a Western Michigan University student more than three decades ago.

Watts over the years had confessed to eleven killings in Texas and one in Michigan.

Michigan, Texas and Canadian authorities had suspected Watts in the slaying of dozens of women.

NEW YORK – A man accused of beating and mugging a 101-year-old woman and two others was arraigned Saturday on charges that included hate crimes, authorities said.

Jack Rhodes, 44, was held without bail on charges of robbery, grand larceny, burglary and assault. Some of those charges were listed as hate crimes because two of the women were at least 60 years old. Authorities said Rhodes targeted the women because of their age, a violation of the New York State Hate Crimes Act of 2000.

Rhodes, whose last known address was in Queens, was arrested Friday on unrelated drug charges.
